I find refuge in the night yet again. The days seem to be getting faster and faster as October slips on by. I can feel the time-travelling creature in me writhing against Time Linear. I drink a cup of peppermint tea in hopes that time will slow and the creature will still.
My days in reality are beginning to feel like several computer tabs open at once. It’s funny how fleeting loneliness always is for me. I find myself wishing for more of it. Its always the things you want the most that seem to evade you. If I must lose sleep to stay up and cling to whatever loneliness I can find in the dark, so be it.
The daytime, however, continues to be filled with music.
Stem - Gabby Start & Knapsack
I’ve decided to start taking my job seriously lmao (,: This is my favorite work vehicle album that we’ve bumped recently. I really like listening to the opening track and being a pop girly. It helps me feel less miserable about having to wear god awful work clothes and sweating in the middle of fall. Credits to Riley (again lol) for this one.
The Times They Are A-Changing - Bob Dylan
That they are. One Two Many Mornings and Restless Farewell been on repeat.
Oh Snap - Cécile McLorin Salvant
This album might win for “recommended by a friend” of the year. (Hi Kieran) I feel like this is a really good example of the culmination of an already extremely talented artist spending years and years building their craft. The result is pure music for music’s sake.
Where Butterflies Go In The Rain - Raveena
Campbell and I did a little thru-hiking in Ouachita to begin my official training/prep for the CDT. We ate dinner at the lakeshore and followed dear tracks in the mud until dark. I put this album on when I needed a little extra motivation. Listening to this always makes me feel so grateful to the past and excited for the future. It’s definitely a comfort record that I love coming back to over and again.
Favorite YouTube cover this week. (:
Speaking of PinkPantheress…
Girls being girls <3
That’s all for now.
this is my enrichment bubble where I listen to all my little albums
