I find myself meeting 2026 with a self-assuredness that has not always been familiar to me. I woke up this morning and for the first time, New Year’s didn’t feel like an arbitrary holiday. As the sun filtered through the windows and landed in soft fragments all over the walls and bedsheets, something new seemed to be blooming inside of me. Something that had been waiting quietly. As excited as I felt, it took me a long time to drag myself out of the guest bed that I’m staying in at my friend Bridget’s house.
We began the year by slowly waking up and shuffling outside to go and find what the first of January held in store for us. We ended up in Dartmoor National Park and as we stood on rolling gorse-covered mountains, I felt the winds of new beginnings swoosh past us and take with them the remains of last year’s troubles.
I feel satisfied with how much I have reflected over the last year and hope to lay down those memories for now. Many of which would not be the same without music. With that being said, here are the last few albums(all released in 2025) that I have not posted about so far, but couldn’t move on from without giving them their flowers.
